The Queen of Geek and Fangirl icon Felicia Day has teamed up with leading 3D printing platform Thangs.com to launch "FeliciaDay3D."
The post FeliciaDay3D: Bringing 3D Printing, Tabletop & Geek Culture Together appeared first on TEMPLE OF GEEK.
[00:00:08] Fortune of a Fangirl is a web series and podcast created by Temple of Geek.
[00:00:13] At the core of the project is the importance of telling the stories of women who have
[00:00:16] found inspiration, growth, and power through fandom.
[00:00:19] My name is Jenna Wren and I'm the host of the Fortune of a Fangirl Podcast and today
[00:00:24] I am so thrilled to be talking with Felicia Day!
[00:00:27] Hi Felicia!
[00:00:28] Hi, how are you?
[00:00:30] Thank you so much for having me, Jenna!
[00:00:32] Oh I am so excited!
[00:00:34] You are perfect!
[00:00:35] You are the ultimate fangirl!
[00:00:37] I think I am!
[00:00:38] I mean, I consider myself a fan-woman now.
[00:00:42] I've decided to evolve past the Queen of Geek stuff.
[00:00:45] I'm the Grand Duchess now.
[00:00:47] Not a dowager quite yet but you know, I really am excited to let new people shine
[00:00:54] and me just not have to do my hair every day.
[00:00:57] So you're working your way up the ranks, right?
[00:01:00] Exactly!
[00:01:01] The privilege of being able to do what the hell I want a little more flexibly.
[00:01:05] Yeah!
[00:01:07] So you're launching this really exciting new project with 3D printing and it's called
[00:01:13] Felicia 3D A New Adventure in 3D Printing and Tabletop Culture.
[00:01:17] Yes, I can tell you all about this because it's my new hobby slash of course passion.
[00:01:22] You know how I just turn everything I love into part of my job?
[00:01:26] It's really just an excuse to deduct the things I want to work on.
[00:01:29] I'll just tell you under the table but no, this is wonderful!
[00:01:33] I've partnered with things.com which is a website where you can search 3D files and things to
[00:01:38] print and they are helping me partner with designers to make original models for people
[00:01:46] to download and enjoy and customize to their delight and then also curate different models
[00:01:52] that I love around the web and highlight designers.
[00:01:57] So because there's nothing more exciting for me than celebrating people's creativity.
[00:02:03] Yeah, 3D printing, you can't go anywhere in geek culture without seeing it now.
[00:02:08] It's a big part of cosplay I know personally.
[00:02:11] It's a huge part of cosplay and tabletop.
[00:02:14] So what initially drew you to explore the world of 3D printing?
[00:02:18] Well, it has been something that has always been on my mind as you said whenever somebody
[00:02:22] comes up to me at a con and is wearing like a cool piece of cosplay or you know even showing
[00:02:28] me a model of something I've done and I was like wow this is really cool where did you get it?
[00:02:32] And it's inevitably more and more 3D printed it and so it's been on my mind for a while.
[00:02:38] My daughter also just started a school with a maker lab and so because she's so enthusiastic
[00:02:44] about it and it really is scratching that stem interest in her which I think is really hard
[00:02:50] to get girls to sort of into and then stick with as they get older.
[00:02:55] I'm like how can I help reinforce this?
[00:02:57] Also, this seems cool.
[00:02:59] I want to make my own dragons.
[00:03:00] So I had been wanting to get a printer all year and I just hadn't got around it and
[00:03:05] I ran into Paul who's the CEO of Thanks and he was like let me help you do this.
[00:03:12] So I get a printer and we start talking and we just basically hit it off so well.
[00:03:18] I was like can you help behind the scenes while I just do all the creative stuff?
[00:03:23] And they were like yes.
[00:03:25] So that's the wonderful thing about this.
[00:03:27] I am able to sort of just focus on creative, focus on working with designers who are
[00:03:32] incredibly talented making things that I want to wear myself and play with and give to my kid
[00:03:38] and all people have to do is just go and download the files they want.
[00:03:42] It's really, really simple.
[00:03:43] Wow did you get to make your dragons?
[00:03:47] Not yet.
[00:03:47] We're designing, we did make a spider because there are so many dragons out there.
[00:03:52] I wanted to do things that I hadn't seen in this face and we made this adorable
[00:03:57] little jumping spider named Webmaster Fred.
[00:04:00] He in Mamedics 3D is the designer and he has this sort of proprietary thing where he
[00:04:05] can lock, you can lock the limbs of the little guys.
[00:04:09] Sorry my camera is really nice.
[00:04:12] You can lock their limbs so they aren't quite as floppy which most
[00:04:15] 3D printed animals are really floppy.
[00:04:17] So this one you can really pose in a cool way.
[00:04:20] We're working on other designs like that.
[00:04:23] Basically I wanted to make toys, I wanted to make jewelry and I wanted to make tabletop
[00:04:26] stuff and that's what I'm focusing on those three categories.
[00:04:29] What message do you hope to inspire in others through this project?
[00:04:33] That's a really good question because the thing that fuels me is celebrating
[00:04:37] people's creativity and introducing creativity to people who don't know about something but
[00:04:42] would totally love it if they just got an entry point.
[00:04:46] This is exactly what happened with me with 3D printing.
[00:04:49] I had kind of looked from afar but there's not like training wheels to get into it and every
[00:04:55] time I search on Reddit at like super basic questions, it wasn't the most friendly comment
[00:05:01] that would stand out to me and I was like I don't know maybe I just don't know enough
[00:05:05] to get into this.
[00:05:06] Maybe I'm not enough of an engineer.
[00:05:08] I don't like tinkering enough and to me like these new printers are
[00:05:13] user-friendly that it kind of takes that sort of the beautiful things that people who are
[00:05:19] really into getting into the nitty-gritty of it.
[00:05:23] That's awesome.
[00:05:23] That's just not me.
[00:05:25] I want to just make pretty things and I want to be creative with it and the wonderful
[00:05:29] thing is when technology gets to be open enough that creators can come in and kind
[00:05:34] of seamlessly jump in with their creativity, this is when beautiful things happen like
[00:05:38] when I first started making web series, when the iPhone came out, you know, when
[00:05:43] technology becomes easy enough for everybody to get into that's where creativity really soars
[00:05:47] and I really feel like that's the turning point in this industry right now and it's
[00:05:52] wonderful and I hope to show people how wonderful and fulfilling and really frankly
[00:06:00] easy it is once you get over the initial hump.
[00:06:03] There is an intimidation factor.
[00:06:05] There's also the price of a printer which is lower and lower now but the wonderful thing
[00:06:09] is I've discovered is you can go to a library, a lot of libraries in certain circulation.
[00:06:15] They have maker labs.
[00:06:16] There are maker labs.
[00:06:17] You can go rent a printer.
[00:06:18] Everybody's got a friend of a friend who has a printer so what you do is you get
[00:06:23] a little USB stick, you download a file and you take it there and you just put
[00:06:28] it in and you make it.
[00:06:29] I mean it really is that simple on the face of it and I didn't know how easy it was
[00:06:35] and I want to show everybody else how easy and wonderful a hobby this could be.
[00:06:39] Yeah it does seem something that could be intimidating because you know at least
[00:06:44] I don't know anything about 3D printing and I'm like oh do I need to know how to design
[00:06:48] things, how to engineer so.
[00:06:50] 100% you have all these questions that haven't been answered because you just
[00:06:53] haven't been exposed to it right?
[00:06:55] You've just seen the end result that looks hard but yeah it is that simple.
[00:07:01] There are things you have to learn like if you get a printer like setting it up,
[00:07:06] you know watch a YouTube video.
[00:07:07] You can do it.
[00:07:08] I actually had to unclog something and I was super scared of something happening
[00:07:12] but I watched a YouTube video and I unclogged my AMS, you know the feeder
[00:07:16] that feeds the filament in it and I was so proud of myself and it didn't really
[00:07:21] take that much.
[00:07:22] It was just really just I'm entering an unknown world where it feels very
[00:07:25] intimidating but honestly again you if you're really interested in having
[00:07:32] making something, one of my models, somebody else's models, you just put the file on a
[00:07:36] USB and go find a printer and I'm telling you there are more accessibility.
[00:07:41] There's more accessibility in finding a printer if you don't have one yourself.
[00:07:44] So just try it out and yeah I just love making things a little bit more accessible
[00:07:50] to people and I really hope this project not only gives people beautiful objects to make
[00:07:55] but also gets them into this for fun.
[00:07:58] How does Felicia Day 3D allow you to be creatively involved in this new artistic medium?
[00:08:04] Yeah so that's one of the things I don't know how to model.
[00:08:07] I mean I don't use blender or ZBrush or any of these wonderful things although of course
[00:08:11] one day I'm going to play around with it.
[00:08:14] Not very successful.
[00:08:15] I wanted to make professional looking things that people could design.
[00:08:18] So the wonderful thing is just like I did at Geek and Sundry,
[00:08:21] I you know come up with an idea.
[00:08:23] I get a huge mood board.
[00:08:25] I send it over to the designer knowing what they're good at and what they're drawn to.
[00:08:30] I want it to be a collaborative experience for both of us.
[00:08:33] They brainstorm, we go back and forth and then we end on a design that we both love.
[00:08:38] Kind of like you know my initial thing was that I wanted to make horoscope necklaces
[00:08:43] that had d20s right?
[00:08:45] They're so pretty.
[00:08:46] It's so cute.
[00:08:47] I know and whether it's you or it's your character.
[00:08:51] I was like let's make these and we started with the cancer because of course I am a cancer.
[00:08:55] And we went back and forth and we had all these different designs.
[00:08:59] And the wonderful thing is that Kaizen 3D who did this you could see that the symbols in there,
[00:09:03] the crab and the constellation.
[00:09:07] So we really came up with a design that I want to wear.
[00:09:12] I wear it with my outfits when I go to conventions or just out on the street
[00:09:15] and people have stopped me and I was like yeah I helped design this.
[00:09:18] You know so it was so wonderful.
[00:09:20] And you know if you go to my page at thanks.com Felicia Day 3D,
[00:09:24] you'll see that every model has the designer very prominently there
[00:09:29] because I want to collaborate.
[00:09:30] I want to celebrate.
[00:09:32] I want to have people find the you know the model that we've made together
[00:09:36] and then maybe go look at their stuff.
[00:09:37] You know so for me just like a Geek & Sundry when I made videos
[00:09:41] and collaborated with creators there it's all about everybody winning as we rise up together.
[00:09:47] Right and along those lines you know this project really aims to foster
[00:09:51] a global 3D printing community.
[00:09:53] So how do you envision this community interacting and growing?
[00:09:58] I mean I could only hope that it we have people from the grassroots
[00:10:02] but we also have people who've been in it a while
[00:10:04] who want to come in and open a door for people.
[00:10:07] You're right 3D printing is international but you know the web is international.
[00:10:11] I've always been on the web.
[00:10:12] I've always had fans around the world.
[00:10:14] And while 3D printing might be a smaller segment of my fans
[00:10:17] who are attracted to my acting or writing or whatever
[00:10:21] from small things great things come you know.
[00:10:23] So I am excited to grow this again introducing people to wonderful things
[00:10:28] maybe bringing creators who are already really successful in their field
[00:10:32] like jewelry or you know cosplay or tabletop models minis anything.
[00:10:38] Maybe they'll want to come and do a collaboration
[00:10:40] and make something in 3D that they never did before
[00:10:43] maybe that'll open a door to a new venue for them to create.
[00:10:46] So again you know I always love being a pass through for everybody
[00:10:51] including myself and passing through into a new community
[00:10:54] that I can foster and interact with.
[00:10:56] We have a wonderful channel on my discord that's growing
[00:11:00] where people are just getting into the hobby
[00:11:02] but also people who are super experienced
[00:11:05] sharing their wonderful designs like it all just we're all together
[00:11:08] and we're all again rising together.
[00:11:11] Great why to you is it important to celebrate geek culture
[00:11:16] within the realm of 3D printing?
[00:11:18] You know I think that whenever I'm in an area
[00:11:23] where big companies haven't completely taken over
[00:11:26] that you really have the authentic feeling of being a geek
[00:11:32] because being a geek is doing something that's not totally mainstream.
[00:11:36] It's celebrating people who are not widely accepted
[00:11:40] and making everyone feel confident in what they love.
[00:11:43] And for me if people feel unacknowledged in a wider way
[00:11:48] then we just need to celebrate ourselves within that niche right
[00:11:51] and with that confidence new people are attracted.
[00:11:55] So it's kind of a weird psychological thing
[00:11:58] where you know if you're really confident what you do
[00:12:00] then people want to be around you,
[00:12:01] people want to accept and then the more people
[00:12:03] who come in with different point of view
[00:12:05] they're going to introduce new perspectives on what you do
[00:12:08] and that's just going to grow we all grow together.
[00:12:11] So yeah I think 3D printing is the next you know world.
[00:12:14] I if you just look online you can find any Pokemon,
[00:12:18] any kind of cosplay in 3D printing.
[00:12:20] I'm only doing my own IP because you know for legal reasons
[00:12:23] but you know you could see that geeks are celebrating
[00:12:26] what they love in with this art form
[00:12:29] and it really is an art form you know
[00:12:30] and it's technical too and that's what I love tech.
[00:12:33] You know I had a math degree and I am an artist
[00:12:35] so like combining art and science
[00:12:37] has always been a passion of mine
[00:12:39] and this is kind of the perfect way to do it right now.
[00:12:42] Okay and then you and then you combine all that
[00:12:44] that you love with geek culture and you can't lose.
[00:12:47] Exactly exactly I mean you know we're making minis
[00:12:50] that are really beautiful of the guild
[00:12:52] and getting back into the guild
[00:12:54] I did not paint these by the way I definitely didn't.
[00:12:57] I'm going to start painting for the first time next week
[00:12:59] with a painter on my live stream
[00:13:01] and it's going to be horrific
[00:13:02] it's going to be nailed at times 20
[00:13:04] but you know but it really is like just playing in a sense
[00:13:09] right and that's really where you know
[00:13:11] the best things come from.
[00:13:12] This is another Mother's Day necklace that I created
[00:13:14] and it's printed on fabric
[00:13:17] and I'm just so you know you wear it
[00:13:18] and it looks like you're floating on your neck
[00:13:20] and you know I got stopped the other day at the store
[00:13:23] by somebody who had never even heard of 3D printing
[00:13:25] and I was like oh this is exciting.
[00:13:29] Let me tell you a little bit about it right?
[00:13:30] Let me give you a card.
[00:13:32] I didn't.
[00:13:32] So the Felicia Day 3D files are available
[00:13:36] for individual purchase after exclusivity.
[00:13:39] How does this approach balance exclusivity for members
[00:13:43] with accessibility for others?
[00:13:45] Well the wonderful thing is that yes
[00:13:47] you can get a subscription for $10 a month
[00:13:50] and you can download five files
[00:13:51] and you know we launched with five files
[00:13:54] we've added a couple
[00:13:55] we even have a free one right now
[00:13:56] and I want to offer the free ones
[00:13:57] that are super easy to print
[00:13:59] so that if somebody has no idea what they're doing
[00:14:01] they're like okay Felicia said try this out
[00:14:04] put it on a USB stick go to their library
[00:14:06] see what they made
[00:14:07] see if it's for them that's awesome you know
[00:14:09] I don't want to have a bar to entry to anyone
[00:14:13] so if you subscribe you get the five
[00:14:15] or you could just go and get one
[00:14:16] and it's like six dollars or seven dollars
[00:14:18] depending on the print the model
[00:14:21] and really you know yeah like
[00:14:24] it's something you could sample
[00:14:25] it's the price of a latte
[00:14:26] if you if you don't want any obligation whatsoever
[00:14:29] and what I love is thanks.com is you know
[00:14:32] it's a startup it's a new company
[00:14:34] everyone is so genuinely lovely
[00:14:36] and they really care about their community
[00:14:38] which to me you know is really important
[00:14:40] a company should foster the creativity
[00:14:43] in their community
[00:14:44] but unfortunately a lot of times
[00:14:45] it doesn't happen they just want
[00:14:47] you know that sort of mass numbers
[00:14:49] and yes that's important to growing a company
[00:14:52] but it's also that personal connection
[00:14:55] that really makes creators feel safe
[00:14:57] and I do enjoy working with things in that way.
[00:14:59] That's lovely now do you have future plans
[00:15:03] to expand this project beyond the current categories
[00:15:06] with tabletop gaming jewelry
[00:15:09] do you have any plans to expand past that?
[00:15:11] You know we'll see what you know
[00:15:12] the wonderful thing is that
[00:15:14] audience input is key right
[00:15:16] and so I have concentrated on these areas
[00:15:19] because that's what I think that
[00:15:20] I can bring to the table something
[00:15:22] that isn't necessarily totally out there
[00:15:24] and saturated you know
[00:15:26] if you want to make a planter
[00:15:28] there are so many wonderful creators out there.
[00:15:31] I think I will focus on these until
[00:15:33] I'm kind of like out of ideas
[00:15:35] or I feel like oh the path is clear on this
[00:15:37] let's dive into something new
[00:15:39] so yeah I can't roll out growing
[00:15:43] but at this point we really started small
[00:15:45] and we have a long way to go
[00:15:46] before we start going different directions.
[00:15:49] Right looking ahead
[00:15:51] what are you most excited about
[00:15:53] when it comes to Felicia Day 3D?
[00:15:55] I'm just excited about seeing people
[00:15:57] print things up and show them to me
[00:15:59] like they independently made something
[00:16:01] and the wonderful thing is you know
[00:16:02] like I said we have this for example
[00:16:04] you have we have this necklace
[00:16:05] that I designed right
[00:16:07] and I wish my camera was yeah there we go
[00:16:09] I had this necklace that I designed
[00:16:10] and I just showed you the black version right
[00:16:12] and so the wonderful thing
[00:16:14] about 3D printing is once you get the file
[00:16:16] that's not the end of you
[00:16:17] your journey if you don't want it to be
[00:16:19] you can increase the size
[00:16:21] you can change the colors
[00:16:22] depending on what filaments you have
[00:16:24] you can literally take this as a template
[00:16:26] and change the jewels around
[00:16:28] so when people infuse their own flair
[00:16:31] with it it's like oh I want to match this dress
[00:16:33] or I don't like hearts
[00:16:35] let's get rid of that thing
[00:16:36] you can fiddle with it
[00:16:37] so the more confident you get
[00:16:39] the more you can infuse yourself
[00:16:41] into these things
[00:16:42] it's not like going to buy an object
[00:16:44] you know somebody actually
[00:16:46] brought the codex model
[00:16:48] you know here it is unpainted
[00:16:50] they brought this
[00:16:50] and they had blown it out like five times
[00:16:53] and they're going to make a chess set
[00:16:54] out of all the guilt
[00:16:55] and I was like that's so cool
[00:16:57] so yeah I just feel like
[00:17:00] being enthusiastic and excited
[00:17:02] and having something additive in your life
[00:17:03] that you're not just consuming
[00:17:05] you're adding yourself in it too
[00:17:07] I think is the healthiest thing
[00:17:08] to involve yourself in
[00:17:09] and that's what I hope that people
[00:17:12] discover through my project
[00:17:14] yeah these pieces seem to be highly customizable
[00:17:17] and I think that that's nice
[00:17:19] because like you said it adds a little flair
[00:17:21] it's not just a static object or something
[00:17:24] you're able to customize it as you want
[00:17:27] yeah or you could just print it
[00:17:28] like it really
[00:17:29] you don't have to feel the pressure
[00:17:30] of like oh my gosh it's so hard
[00:17:32] like yeah we have a little x-lottal
[00:17:34] I'm not sure if it's still
[00:17:35] I think it's still up there
[00:17:36] and it takes 30 minutes to print
[00:17:39] and it's just a little cutie
[00:17:40] and you just put it up there
[00:17:42] and it goes boom
[00:17:43] and you can paint it later
[00:17:45] or you can use the different filaments
[00:17:46] if you have a printer
[00:17:47] that has multiple filaments
[00:17:48] so again you can make it as easy
[00:17:50] or as complicated as you want
[00:17:52] and that's what I really love
[00:17:53] and that's something that
[00:17:55] it can grow with you
[00:17:56] versus like oh I'm just going to buy
[00:17:59] this thing and it's done
[00:18:00] right so you currently work
[00:18:03] as an actor a producer
[00:18:05] a writer a streamer
[00:18:06] you kind of a jack-of-all-trades here
[00:18:09] and on top of that you're a mom
[00:18:11] so now that you're launching
[00:18:12] this 3D printing initiative
[00:18:14] how do you balance
[00:18:15] these very different aspects of your life?
[00:18:18] yeah it's really tough
[00:18:19] and taking this on was certainly
[00:18:21] like I had to stop myself
[00:18:22] I'm like Felicia
[00:18:23] is that you need this another project
[00:18:25] and the wonderful thing is that
[00:18:27] if something gets me creatively excited
[00:18:29] I know it's a good direction to go in
[00:18:30] because your creativity is boundless
[00:18:32] it can be focused in any area obviously
[00:18:35] because I do so many different things
[00:18:38] and after my company Geek & Sundry
[00:18:40] I left it
[00:18:40] I was very burnt out
[00:18:41] I was physically and mentally
[00:18:43] not in a very good place
[00:18:44] it took years to get back
[00:18:45] to a creative place for me
[00:18:47] because quite frankly the business side
[00:18:49] really kind of quashed a lot of my creativity
[00:18:53] you know and that's okay
[00:18:55] that's just what happens
[00:18:56] I made wonderful things there
[00:18:58] and now I had that spark alive again
[00:19:00] and I know enough to protect myself
[00:19:03] and not go down a path
[00:19:04] that isn't going to keep that spark lit
[00:19:06] and this is one that really made me excited
[00:19:10] not only do I get to brainstorm
[00:19:13] and have ideas and collaborate
[00:19:15] but I get to work with incredible creators
[00:19:19] and that really is wonderful
[00:19:21] because it's not just me
[00:19:22] it's us together creating things
[00:19:24] right it's a lovely joint effort
[00:19:26] this sounds like a great community
[00:19:28] that you've become part of
[00:19:30] yeah these I mean they're so incredibly
[00:19:32] they're just incredible artists
[00:19:33] and the things that they do are just you know
[00:19:36] I'm like I wish I wish I could be so talented
[00:19:40] but let's work together
[00:19:42] and make cool things together
[00:19:44] great so you are someone who has managed
[00:19:47] to turn your love of fandom and geek culture
[00:19:50] into a successful career in many different ways
[00:19:53] what advice do you have for fan girls out there
[00:19:56] who want to embark on a journey like yours?
[00:19:58] Well I don't know if anybody will have
[00:20:01] my specific journey
[00:20:02] I was super early in this world
[00:20:04] and I'm so inspired and gratified
[00:20:08] that there are so many more
[00:20:09] especially women and diverse people in fandom now
[00:20:14] it really is a huge transformation
[00:20:16] that I can only marvel at
[00:20:18] and my daughter she is well on her way
[00:20:20] to becoming very geeky
[00:20:21] she's huge into Pokemon
[00:20:23] she loves board games
[00:20:24] she loves math and science
[00:20:26] you know like for me creating a safe environment
[00:20:29] for her is paramount
[00:20:30] so I'll be here forever
[00:20:32] I will never be leaving
[00:20:33] I'll be the grand dom one day
[00:20:35] and that's fine to me
[00:20:36] but I think that anybody who is
[00:20:39] this is their passion
[00:20:41] you know you know focus on the creativity
[00:20:43] and if you make a business of it
[00:20:44] make sure to study the business aspect of it
[00:20:47] I think a lot of us who love something
[00:20:48] can stumble into a career quote unquote
[00:20:52] turning their loves into a business
[00:20:54] and the thing that really broke me was like
[00:20:57] you know being in a business
[00:20:59] and not having business skills
[00:21:01] management skills knowing finances
[00:21:04] being able to also delegate
[00:21:06] when things got so big
[00:21:08] and I was used to doing everything myself
[00:21:10] the growing pains of growing
[00:21:12] and being successful are as bad
[00:21:14] as being completely anonymous
[00:21:16] I just I hate to be like complaining about
[00:21:19] you know champagne problems
[00:21:21] but yeah I was not equipped for the success I had
[00:21:24] I was not equipped for the popularity
[00:21:26] and the scrutiny and the bullying
[00:21:28] that came along with being popular
[00:21:30] like it was all
[00:21:30] it all kind of gets wrapped up in itself
[00:21:32] and you know whatever level you're on
[00:21:35] you're going to have some critics
[00:21:37] and they're very enthusiastic online
[00:21:38] so protect yourself
[00:21:40] surround yourself with community
[00:21:42] and if you're growing as a business person
[00:21:44] make sure you know the behind the scenes stuff
[00:21:46] well enough to know what you don't do well
[00:21:48] and delegate as you grow in popularity
[00:21:51] and just make sure you're always loving it
[00:21:54] because sometimes when you get to a point
[00:21:55] where the business stuff weighs on your heart
[00:21:58] figure out how to fix that
[00:21:59] because you don't want anything
[00:22:01] to squash your creative spirit
[00:22:02] or your love of fandom
[00:22:03] that's wonderful wonderful advice
[00:22:05] for the fan girls out there
[00:22:06] and thank you so much for taking your time
[00:22:10] talking with me about your new project today
